California Wildfires Have Begun

It's early June and it appears that California's wildfire season is off to an early start.  Two notable fires blazed to life on Sunday - one in the center of the state, the other in Los Angeles area.  A heatwave that will encompass the entire West Coast by mid-week has raised the curtain on what looks to be a very dangerous summer for the West.

Just north of Los Angeles a rapidly growing wildfire forced the evacuation and closure of the Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park.
Sunday's evacuations came after the Sky Fire ignited around noon near Valencia, California, sending smoke into the sky that made the air near the amusement parks unsafe to breathe, according to NBC News. Magic Mountain is the nation's 14th busiest amusement park and averages 9,200 visitors a day.
Climate change is making this the new normal for California.
